It works by normalizing epidermal cell growth and differentiation, reducing excessive keratinization. Helps control scaling and plaque formation in psoriasis. Clinical Uses Severe psoriasis → especially resistant plaque psoriasis. Keratinization disorders → including ichthyosis and palmoplantar keratoderma. Side Effects Common: Dry skin, lips, hair thinning, elevated triglycerides. Serious: Liver toxicity, teratogenicity (strict pregnancy avoidance required). Precautions: Avoid alcohol; women must use effective contraception during and after therapy. Patient Counselling Points Take orally with meals.
